Marilyn Orr is a Leadership and Mentor Coach with Capacity Building Coaching, and Training Partner on EQ-i 2.0 with Multi-Health Systems.


Providing professional coaching for executives and business leaders - increasing self-awareness, offering direct feedback and supporting soft-skills development. 

Professional Background

Jumping from her background in professional counselling, driven by a passion to see other people free to be their best, Marilyn obtained a Graduate Certificate in Executive Coaching from Royal Roads University in 2005. Marilyn started the ICF Atlantic Canada Chapter, and more recently served as President of the ICF Charter Chapter of Greater Austin, Texas.  

Since 2004 Marilyn has supported the growth and transformation of thousands of individuals and a large number of organizations across the United States and Canada. Marilyn has a strategic partnership with Vision Coaching Inc. giving Capacity Building Coaching clients access to a large network of professional coaches and industry experts.

A published author, Marilyn first created and designed “How Absorbent Are Your Shocks?” an everyday resiliency workbook.  Since then, lending her wisdom to other platforms, Marilyn has been featured in blogs, podcasts and the printed word, recently featured in “Explorations into the Being and Doing of Coaching” a book of collective wisdom from Austin, TX coaches.

Marilyn loves speaking, be that keynote addresses or workshops. Themes include Developing Personal Resiliency, Emotionally Intelligent Conflict, Using Coaching to Lead and Leveraging Assertiveness and Empathy to name a few.

Personal Vision

Marilyn's commitment to building capacity through coaching has been very personal. After all, it's with the support of coaching she has transformed her own life, business and future. At her core, Marilyn Orr believes in the power of coaching. She has her own coach. She hires specific coaches for her own personal and professional and business growth needs. 

Drawing from all of her experiences, and with her dedication to growth Marilyn enjoys pursuing her current inspirational vision with the dedication that has been recognized by her peers as her signature approach. Engaging her strong entrepreneurial spirit and ability to think big, Marilyn and partner Bill are pursuing their shared dream -  The Cedars Ranch; an eco-conscious venue and wellness retreat space in the Texas Hill Country.
